AC Milan will look to narrow the gap at the top of the Serie A table when they welcome Cagliari for their next game this Sunday. Milan are currently 7 points off the top of the table, but can go to the second place,should they win this one and Juventus lose theirs on Sunday.
The Rossoneri appear to have shrugged off an indifferent start to the season and have bounced back nicely. Last fortnight they overcame Lazio by a 1-2 margin away from home. Goals from Thiago Silva and Alexandre Pato scored for Milan, while Lazio's goal came when Silva deflected a Mauro Zarate shot into his own net.
Milan boss Leonardo will be quietly satisfied with his side's showing so far. However he will be dreading January as many of his players could leave in the transfer window. Winger Gennaro Gattusso has expressed a desire to join Man City, while the likes of Patio have attracted interest from Chelsea.
Meanwhile Cagliari will be hunting for their fifth successive win on Sunday. The side has put a dismal start behind them and has climbed up to the 8th spot on the table with 19 points from 12 games played so far.
Last fortnight they beat Sampdoria by a 2-0 margin thanks to goals from Alessandro Matri and Daniele Conti. The Sardinians will hope to repeat more of the same against AC Milan as well.
