The Flames registered their first ever victory in the competition with an excellent performance against Algeria in their opening group match to move into a strong position that could see them eliminate one of the more fancied teams from the group.

Angola on the other hand are still struggling to understand how they managed to throw away a four goal lead and come away with just a point against Mali in their opening match. Two goals from Flavio and one each from Gilberto and Manucho had given Angola a 4-0 lead with just 15 minutes to go only for Mali to score three goals in the final four minutes to complete an amazing comeback.
Coach Manuel Jose will be aware that his side can ill afford any more slip ups and will be hoping to collect all three points against Malawi on Thursday and climb to the top of their group table.
