Cameroon are one of the favorites to lift the trophy this year and coach Paul Le Guen will be hoping to put behind the disappointment of losing out in the finals last time around and lead the Indomitable Lions to their fifth African Nations Cup trophy.
Cameroon struggled to stamp their authority in their pre-tournament friendly against Kenya and needed a late comeback to bounce back from a goal down early in the first half to win the game 3-1.
Meanwhile Gabon will be hoping to become third time lucky and finally register a win in the tournament after facing disappointments in their last two appearances in the competition. Gabon last qualified in the 2000 edition and managed to register their first point in the competition by holding Congo to a 0-0 draw.
Coach Alain Giresse will be optimistic of a different result this time around and is aware that his side has a good chance of pulling off an upset if Tunisia fails to beat Zambia in the other group game.
