Real drew 1-1 with AC Milan at the San Siro on Match Day 4. A goalkeeping howler from Dida allowed Karim Benzema to give Los Merengues the lead, but Milan equalised from the spot six minutes later through Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho. Real beat lowly Racing Santander 1-0 in La Liga on Saturday, with a goal from Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain enough to seal victory for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Zurich were taught a footballing lesson by Didier Deschamps’ Marseille on Match Day 4. The Swiss side were annihilated 6-1 by OM, conceding as many goals in that game as they had in their first three games in Group C. Since that thrashing, they have lost twice domestically and were knocked out of the Swiss Cup by Basel on Saturday. Nigerian midfielder Onyekachi Okonkwo is suspended for Bernard Challandes’ side.
