The Villains, who were holding a 1-0 advantage in their 1-0 victory in the first leg, gave up two quick goals to Blackburn which would have put the Rovers in the final. Instead, a melee broke out in terms of goals and Aston Villa is on their way to Wembley (where they’ll face one of the Manchester’s). Martin O’Neills side beat the aforementioned Blackburn in the last round to get here.
Brighton, who are plying their trade in League One (where they sit 18th) come into the match on the heels of two victories. They won at Torquay United in the 3rd round of the FA Cup to get here, and then had a nice 1-0 win at Walsall.
