Osasuna have won only one of their last eight league games and were winless in December. Their last game, against Athletic Bilbao, ended in defeat for Los Rojillos. Bilbao scored twice in the first twelve minutes of the game, and Osasuna failed to recover from that early double blow. Jose Antonio Camacho’s side are only three points above the relegation zone at this stage of the season.
Real, as mentioned before, crushed Zaragoza 6-0. Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain was again on the scoresheet, with two to his name. Dutch playmaker Rafael van der Vaart also scored a brace, while summer signings Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema netted in the second half. It was Real’s biggest win of the season and a fitting birthday present for Benzema. Brazilian superstar Kaka could make his return from injury this weekend.
