Les Grenats secured a comfortable 3-1 win over Lyon in this stage of the competition last season and with Lyon struggling for form in their recent games, Pouliquen will be optimistic that his side can repeat the performance for a second successive season.
Metz have looked in good form in the competition and have already dumped out Bastia, Tours and Valenciennes in the first three rounds. With the club sitting within touching distance of the three promotion places in Ligue 2, Pouliquen will be happy with his side’s performances so far and will be hopeful of another strong run in the competition this time around.
Lyon on the other hand are struggling for form in the domestic league with coach Claude Puel admitting defeat in the title race by stating that he would settle for a second placed finish this season. The Coupe therefore remains their only realistic change of silverware and Puel will be keen to ensure his side does not falter in this quest.
