The English champions lost the first leg 2-1 at the City of Manchester Stadium but do have a slight advantage by scoring a vital away goal. Manager Alex Ferguson will be expecting nothing less than a victory from his side as he looks to nip City’s ambitions in the bud.
United go into the match on the back of a comfortable 4-0 win over Hull City on Saturday with Wayne Rooney scoring four goals. The English striker will be the key man for United who could also start with Nani after the Portuguese winger impressed in the last two matches.
City on the other hand will be hoping to make a statement of intent by dumping out their arch rivals from the competition. A victory for Roberto Mancini’s side could put City on course for their first major trophy in more than 30 years.
