The Gers extended their lead at the top of the table to ten points as they beat St.Mirren 2-0 away from home. Steven Davis’ 2nd minute strike, his first of the season, put Rangers ahead before Spanish striker Nacho Novo sealed all three points with his 86th minute effort. Davis, scorer of the first goal, turned creator for the second.

Falkirk failed to take advantage of Giles Coke’s dismissal as they could only draw 0-0 with Motherwell. Coke was given his marching orders for a rash challenge on Scott Arfield, but Well hung on to pick up a precious point. It was a disappointing evening for Falkirk, who had one man more on the pitch for a full half but could not make the most of it.
