Falkirk were beaten 2-0 by Hibernian last weekend, a result that was a tad unfair on Eddie May’s side. Hibs took the lead through an own goal from Falkirk’s Brian McLean. The Bairns pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half, but Hibs managed to do enough to keep them at bay. Falkirk failed to make their one man advantage count, and Hibs closed out the game in the 88th minute thanks to a powerful Derek Riordan effort.
Rangers were beaten 1-0 by Aberdeen last week, thereby extending their winless run at Pittodrie to nine games. Lee Miller scored the only goal of the game on seventeen minutes. Rangers played the last half an hour with a man extra after Aberdeen skipper Mark Kerr was sent off, but were unable to equalise and eventually slumped to defeat.
