Spurs have won three and lost two of their last five league games. The form sheet for their last five games shows a defeat sandwiched between two wins, and manager Harry Redknapp will want his side to show more consistency if they want to break the hegemony of the Big Four. Tottenham beat Sunderland 2-0 in their last game, with Robbie Keane and Tom Huddlestone scoring. This game comes too soon for playmaker Luka Modric, who has not recovered from his fractured fibula injury.
Wigan drew with Fulham in their last game. Emmerson Boyce put the Latics ahead in the first half, but Clint Dempsey brought Fulham back into the game by earning a penalty which he himself converted. Roberto Martinez’s men are thirteenth in the table, eight points behind Tottenham. Long term absentee Maynor Figueroa will not play any part in this game for the Latics.
