The Danes, who were missing several first team regulars against South Korea, created a few opportunities against the Koreans, but were unable to find the back of the net. Korea however managed to do so through Ki Hyon-Seol, only for the effort to be disallowed for offside. Danish skipper Jon Dahl Tomasson missed the Korea game with a thigh injury, but the Feyernoord striker is expected to be fit in time for the USA clash.
The USA tasted defeat on Saturday as they were beaten 1-0 by Slovakia. Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik struck the only goal of the game from the spot after left back Jonathan Bornstein had been penalised for fouling Vladimir Weiss in the box. Bob Bradley’s men seemed to miss the creativity of Landon Donovan in attack against the Slovakians.
